Optimae announces expansion with addition of rehabilitation services division

DES MOINES — Optimae LifeServices, Inc. announced the addition of a new rehabilitation services division in Central Iowa.

The division includes Iowa’s first outpatient rehabilitation clinic specializing in occupational therapy services for adults and adolescents with mental illness and intellectual disabilities located in Des Moines’ East Village at 600 E. Court Ave., Suite 120. These services can be provided individually or in a group setting at the clinic or in the community or individual’s home.

“The addition of rehabilitation services allows Optimae to further build on the array of comprehensive services it offers individuals and expand its existing customer base, which is critical in the current health care environment in Iowa,” said William Dodds, Optimae President and Chief Executive Officer.

Optimae Rehabilitation Services serves individuals in the Des Moines metro area and surrounding counties, including Polk, Dallas, Story, Jasper and Marion. It is one of five divisions of the company, which provides services to individuals with mental illness and disabilities. The others include home health, behavioral health, community and residential services.

Mental illness and intellectual disabilities can significantly limit an individual’s ability to engage in daily activities that are meaningful and lead to productive daily routines.

Occupational therapists address these barriers through interventions that enhance existing skills, promote wellness, restore skills, modify a person’s environment or activities and prevent relapse. This can prevent the worsening of existing disabilities and conditions, while promoting independence in individuals who otherwise would require institutionalization or long-term care.

Optimae Rehabilitation Services also provides physical and speech therapy through contracted agencies with plans to bring those services in-house in the future.

The new program will be overseen and operated by Ashley Adams, director of Rehabilitation Services. Individuals can schedule an appointment or find out more by contacting the clinic at 515-979-4117 or emailing aadams@optimaelifeservices.com.
