Skiff CEO announces departure

Skiff Medical Center has announced its CEO has accepted a new position and will leave his post early next year.

Brett Altman has accepted the position of CEO of Cass County Health System in Atlantic. He is expected to remain at Skiff through Jan. 2, 2017.
 
"This decision to leave Skiff has been more than difficult – it has been gut-wrenching," said Altman. "I love this hospital and what it does for patients and the broader community."
 
Employed at Skiff since 1994, Altman has previously served as Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Operations Officer, interim CEO and Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has served as CEO and President since July 2014.
 
"Under Brett's leadership, Skiff has strengthened its fiscal foundation and elevated its fundraising efforts," said Dr. Jeff King, chair of the Skiff Board of Directors. "He and his team have made Skiff what it is today – a very high quality institution with an outstanding reputation."

The Skiff Medical Center Board of Directors, in collaboration with leadership at Mercy – Des Moines, will make an announcement in the coming weeks regarding filling the CEO position at Skiff.
