The Newton Police Department is distributing free Safety Pup trick-or-treat bags from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 30 at the police department, 101 W. Fourth St. S. These bright colored bags will be distributed along with a pamphlet containing safety tips for a fun and safe Halloween. Beggar’s night is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30.
