More than 30 Newton Senior High School DECA members attended the DECA Conference on Jan. 22 at Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines. The students competed with students from other schools by taking a 50-point test and engaging in a role play scenario with a judge. Several students placed in their event and several received honorable mentions. The students will travel to Des Moines on Feb. 23 and 24 to compete in the State DECA Competition. DECA is an organization that develops leaders in management, finance, hospitality and marketing.
