This year more than 850 people, including Jasper County 4-Hers Nikayla Hoffman, Alexanderia Hlavacek, Jacob Smith and Jarrett Horn, participated in the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference conference, which took place from June 27 to 29 on the Iowa State University Campus. The theme of the conference was “Unmask Your Opportunities,” which is exactly what youth have a chance to do through many hands on workshops on campus. It is a leadership development conference for high school students. The Iowa 4-H Youth Conference is one of the largest youth-led 4-H conferences in the nation. Delegates listen to motivational speakers, participate in service projects and attend workshops, dances and a formal banquet.
