The Newton Senior High School Class of 1963 will celebrate its 50th reunion at 6 p.m. Saturday at Cardinal Hills, formerly the Newton Country Club.
Alumni are encouraged to attend the informal social evening, which will feature hors d’oeuvres, a class picture, champagne toast, K-B DJ and a cash bar. Cost is $30 a person.
The all-class open house begins at 6 p.m. Friday at the Iowa Speedway. The Class of 1963 will have a welcoming table.
Class members also are invited to the alumni breakfast beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the NHS lower gym. Fred Chabot will speak about the class along with other class representatives. The cost for the breakfast is $7 a person. Tickets can be purchased Friday at the speedway.
The class also will meet and visit with Buzz Levick and the state champion basketball boys at 8 a.m. Saturday at Cardinal Hills. Coffee and doughnuts will be served. A golf outing will begin at 8 a.m. and costs $30 per person (includes golf cart).
