Published: Monday, May 13, 2013 11:44 a.m. CDT • Updated: Friday, May 24, 2013 12:43 p.m. CDT

Jasper Conservation Connection and the Jasper County Conservation Board will be partnering again to host the sixth annual Hook, Line and Sinker family fishing derby at 9 a.m. June 8 at Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve. The fishing derby is free for all ages and it is free fishing weekend, so a fishing license is not required.

The event will include educational presentations about fish ID, casting, cleaning fish, and lure making.

After a provided lunch, participants will have the afternoon to go fishing and try their skills at a casting contest. The first 100 kids to register will receive a free t-shirt.

To register, please visit the Jasper County Conservation website at www.jaspercountyconservation.com to print off a registration form. Forms must be returned by May 24 to the Conservation Office to ensure participants are served a meal the day of the derby.

If you have any questions please call the conservation office at (641)792-9780.
