The Jasper County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to review a property transfer to the City of Monroe.
The board discussed the issue in previous meetings, but decided to hold off until a map could be produced. A concerned citizen worried about her property, which was the reason the board delayed its vote.
The board will review the Veterans Affairs Quarterly Report. The program is an outreach program that meets monthly at Park Centre, Willow Brook Adult Center, Jasper County Community Center and Newton Retirement Home to establish relationships with local veterans.
The organization completed five pamphlets that were designed to inform the public of who they are, and specific information about military claims like Agent Orange.
In addition, the program organized the placement of a Korean veteran’s gravestone that had not been placed in 12 years.
The organization spent $10,816, an average of $832 per veteran.
The board will review the sheriff’s quarterly report. The report consists of items such as DARE trust funds to purchase permits. The department’s receipts totaled $170,011 and its disbursements totaled $180,414. The beginning balance at the quarter was $25,198.96, and the end balance at the quarter was $14,796.06
The original courthouse blueprints will be reviewed for the Jasper County Historical Society.
Jasper County Auditor Dennis Parrott will present the Annual Urban Renewal Report for fiscal year 2011-2012 to the board.
