Newton senior Haylee White, seated center, signed with the Iowa Lakes Community College swim team at the high school recently. Haylee White chose Iowa Lakes over interest from Iowa Central. “I chose Iowa Lakes because the coach reminded me of my favorite coach (Sarah Patterson),” Haylee White said. “I loved her attitude and her energy. I loved the school and the passing rate of the nursing class.” Haylee White’s favorite events are the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, but she will be OK doing whatever the coach tells her to do. She plans on majoring in nursing with the hopes of becoming a travel nurse and eventually an in-home hospice nurse. (Submitted Photo)
