MARENGO — The Lynnville-Sully girls golf team got a career-best score from Brooke Hardeman and Jakeira Hay finished second overall during a road South Iowa Cedar League triangular at Marengo Golf Club on Monday.
The Hawks edged host Iowa Valley by two strokes in the final standings, and Belle Plaine did not have enough golfers for a team score.
“We had a good meet,” L-S head golf coach Brenna Hamburg said. “All golfers hit well in the wind, and we are seeing some improvements in their score and consistency in their swings.”

L-S won the meet with a 230 and Iowa Valley finished second with a 232. The Tigers were led by meet medalist Emma McCaw, who turned in a 52.
Hay was the runner-up medalist with a 54 and Hardeman’s career best was a 56.
The Lynnville-Sully boys were led by Carson Maston, but the Hawks were edged by two strokes in the final standings.
Iowa Valley won the meet with a 211 and the Hawks shot 213. Both teams were a few shots in front of Belle Plaine, which was third with a 217.
The other two counting scores for the L-S girls came from Olivia Beyer (60) and Audrey Kaldenberg (60). Hannah Parent (63) and Brynlee Farrell (72) had non-counting scores but had career-best performances.

Maston shot 44 to earn medalist honors on the boys’ side. Iowa Valley’s Owen Bral was the runner-up medalist with a 47.
Boston Agan had a career-best 54 for the Hawks and the other counting scores came from Blake Maston (57) and Ransom Scholten (career-best 58). Max Morvant (59) and River Miller (63) carded non-counting scores.
L-S girls place second at BGM triangular
BROOKLYN — Hay’s career-best score was not enough for the L-S girls during a road SICL triangular at Brooklyn-Victor Country Club on April 10.
The Hawks shot 226 in second. That was good enough to best English Valleys (233), but BGM won the meet with a 193.
Carson Maston’s career-best 41 led the Hawk boys, but L-S was third in the final standings with a 210.

Host BGM won the meet with a 159. Ethan Bridgewater and Robby Tometich both shot 39 at the top of the individual standings.
English Valleys had a 206 in second and Gage Heyne led the Bears with a 39.
Hay turned in a career-best 53 to lead the L-S girls. Kaldenberg (56) and Beyer (57) both carded career-best scores and the other counting score came from Hardeman (60). Parent and Lilly Fuchs (career-best 69) had non-counting scores.
BGM’s Ana Coleman was the meet medalist with a 45 and her teammate, Aurelia Roudabush, was the runner-up with a 48. The Bears posted the four best scores.
Blake Maston (50) had a career-best score for the L-S boys. The other counting scores came from Scholten (59) and Agan (60) and Morvant (61) and Miller (63) turned in non-counting scores.
