IOWA CITY — A pair of Cardinals traveled east down Interstate 80 on Saturday and competed in the Eastern Iowa Track and Field Festival and Caden Klein posted new season-best times in both the 400- and 400-meter hurdles.
Isaiah Hansen also competed in the high jump at Iowa City West.

Klein won the 400 hurdles in 54.18 seconds, which ranks second in the state. He also posted a career-best time of 49.25 in the 400 and that also sits second in the state.
Both of Klein’s time currently lead Class 3A. The 54.18 in the 400 hurdles is under the Drake Relays Blue Standard time of 54.25.
Hansen’s best mark in the high jump was 5 feet, 10 inches, and he placed seventh.
