Newton girls fall to Norwalk in LHC opener

Addy Cibula made a career-best 23 saves, but the Newton girls soccer team was shut out, 8-0, against Norwalk on Tuesday at H.A. Lynn Stadium.

Newton trailed the LHC matchup 5-0 at halftime, and the Warriors added three goals in the second half.

It was Norwalk’s eighth straight win and fourth straight shutout against the Cardinals. Addy Wood led the Warriors with two goals and three assists and Bella Moede scored two goals.

Norwalk (2-0, 1-0) registered 42 shots and peppered Cibula with 31 shots no goal.
