AMES — Camryn Russell registered a pair of runner-up finishes and anchored the Bolts’ shuttle hurdle relay team to fourth and the Baxter girls track and field team posted times in the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays that were faster than any performance last season.
The Baxter girls wound up tied for 13th in the Class 1A standings at the IATC Indoor Championships.
The Bolts scored 21 points on the campus of Iowa State University, and Russell’s two runner-up finishes led the way.

Russell took second in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 8 inches and then finished second in the 60 hurdles in 9.71 seconds. She posted a time of 9.85 in the prelims.
Grace Anderegg, Kendall Brummel, Avery Wonders and Russell completed the shuttle hurdle relay in 42.05 in fourth.
Wonders also was 11th in the high jump with a leap of 4-9. She teamed up with Brummel, Russell and Gwen Tichy in the 4x400 and the team placed 16th in a school-record time of 4 minutes, 35.14 seconds.
The 4x800 relay team was 14th. That group featured Brummel, Tichy, Makayla True and Johnelle Gliem and they finished in 11:42.86.
The 4x100 relay team of Anderegg, Alyvia Burdess, Sydnee Hibbs and Kamdyn Krampe placed 15th in a time of 56.27, which was faster than any time the Bolts ran last season.
Council Bluffs St. Albert won the girls meet title with 44 points. That edged Saint Ansgar (43) by one point and the rest of the top five included Danville (34), Madrid (31) and West Bend Mallard (29).
