ADEL — Gabbie Humphrey grabbed another win and the Cardinal boys snagged three of the top five spots during a road bowling matchup with ADM on Saturday.
The Newton bowling teams claimed their third straight victories with a sweep of the Tigers at the Adel Family Fun Center.
The Cardinal girls led by 230 pins after the individual games and dominated the Tigers 2,231 to 1,964. The Newton boys outscored ADM by a narrow margin in both rounds and took down its hosts 2,874 to 2,789.

Both Cardinal teams improved to 7-3. The ADM boys had its seven-match win streak snapped and fell to 7-4.
Humphrey led the girls to their highest team score of the season with a 364 series. She had individual games of 161 and 203. That was 30 pins better than ADM’s Keira Duff, who was the runner-up with a 334.
Aeris Archer was next for the Cardinals with a 307 followed by Mackenna Burns (302), Tamika Rodenborn (career-best 297), Kelly Holmes (281) and Jessamyn Neer (231).
Archer took third with single games of 151 and 156, while Burns was fifth with a 148 and a 154. Rodenborn finished sixth with single games of 128 and a career-best 169, Holmes took seventh with a 114 and a 167 and Neer was ninth with a 90 and a career-best 141.
Newton outscored ADM (4-7) 680-643 in the Baker round to extend its margin.
MaKayla Carter led the Newton girls junior varsity with a 241 series. She had single games of 113 and 128.

The Newton boys led ADM 1,885 to 1,829 after the first round and then outscored the Tigers 989-960 in the Baker round.
Austin Kennedy was the runner-up with a 399 series. He posted single games of 218 and 181.
Ethan Valtman (378) edged Jeremiah Killmer (377) for third, Gentry Swarts (373) placed sixth and the rest of the Cardinals’ varsity lineup featured Parker Kennedy (358) in ninth and Nathan Hauber (339) in 10th.
Valtman’s single games were 186 and 192, Killmer turned in individual games of 171 and 206 and Swarts turned in a 147 and a 226. Parker Kennedy registered single games of 177 and 181 and Hauber had individual games of 192 and 147.
ADM’s Cole Darling was the overall winner with a 411 series. He had single games of 189 and 211. Riley Ostrem (374) was fifth with single games of 167 and 202.
The Tigers, who are in their first season of high school bowling, won the boys JV matchup, but Carter Maki led the Cardinals with a 366 series. He had single games of 159 and 207.
