SULLY — A balanced attack and a fast start lifted the Lynnville-Sully girls basketball team past Ankeny Christian Academy on Friday.

The Class 1A No. 11 Hawks dominated the first half and Kate Harthoorn shot past her mother for the all-time record for 3-pointers in a career during a 65-31 non-conference home win.

Lynnville-Sully led 23-10 after one quarter and had a 41-17 advantage at halftime. The Hawks won the second half 24-14.

“The girls played really well for the full game tonight,” Lynnville-Sully head girls basketball coach Jerry Hulsing said. “Our defense was good and had good rotations all night, and we rebounded the ball well.”

“Our offense was sharp, which lead to some easy baskets,” Hulsing said. “We ran the floor well also.”
