COLFAX — A dominating effort on the defensive end of the floor propelled the Lynnville-Sully girls basketball team to a road win over Colfax-Mingo on Tuesday.

The visitors sunk eight 3-pointers, turned the ball over only 12 times and limited the Tigerhawks to single digits in three of the four quarters.
“Our defense was really good tonight,” Lynnville-Sully head girls basketball coach Jerry Hulsing said. “We didn’t let C-M get any good looks and disrupted their offense. SULLY — Harthoorn made six 3s and the Hawks dominated the boards and swiped 16 steals during Lynnville-Sully’s 41-26 win over HLV on Friday.

“Our defense won us this game,” Hulsing said. “We did a pretty good job of keeping them in front of us and not letting them get to the lane. We rebounded it fairly well. Our offense was not good. We didn’t move the ball very well and we were soft with our passes.”
