Maston’s putback at the buzzer lifts L-S boys past Sigourney

Hawks start fast in rout of Pleasantville

Carson Maston

SULLY — Carson Maston converted a putback at the buzzer to lift the Lynnville-Sully boys basketball team to a 55-53 home win over Sigourney on Friday.

The Hawks held off a late Savage rally and clinched their sixth straight win in the series during South Iowa Cedar League action.

“The team stats were close in a lot of areas,” Lynnville-Sully head boys basketball coach Nick Harthoorn said. “We were able to get a few more offensive boards which was critical for us. We would have liked to finish the game a little stronger, but thankfully we were able to make a huge play at the end to win it.”

Dawson James
