State-ranked Indianola too much for Newton volleyball

Cardinals limited to four kills in home loss to 5A No. 6 Indians

The Newton volleyball team was limited to four kills and two aces, and the Cardinals had a negative kill efficiency during a 25-10, 25-7, 25-11 home loss to Class 5A No. 6 Indianola in Little Hawkeye Conference action on Tuesday.

Isabelle Rawlins finished with four assists and five digs and Macy Lampe added two kills, two digs and two aces in the loss.

Chloe Swank tallied 12 digs, Delaney Woollums registered five digs and Morgan Frehse chipped in two digs.

The Cardinals (6-10, 0-4 in the conference) were 26-of-28 in serves with Lampe going 6-of-6 and Swank finishing 5-of-5.

Indianola (21-3, 4-0) got 19 assists, nine kills and four aces from Aspen Nelsen and Camryn Overton added seven kills, six digs and seven aces. The Indians finished with 20 aces.
