Newton’s Weter chooses Luther College wrestling

Cardinal senior plans to wrestle at 197 pounds in first season

Newton senior Wyatt Weter plans to wrestle at Luther College next season. He chose the Norse over Simpson College, Loras College and William Penn University. "I picked Luther because of the culture they had on their wrestling team," Weter said. "I also chose it for the academics." Weter had football opportunities, too, but chose wrestling because of 'unfinished business.'" Weter plans to start his collegiate career at 197 pounds. "It's a great fit and I will have an opportunity to compete at the next level at 197," Weter said. Weter was joined at his signing by his mother Crystal Nelson. Newton senior Wyatt Weter signed with the Luther College wrestling team and plans to start his college career at 197 pounds.

Weter picked Luther over Simpson College, William Penn University and Loras College. He is undecided on a major.
