BAXTER — Five Bolts went 2-0 and the Baxter boys’ wrestling team finished 8-3 in contested matches and posted seven pins, but it added up to a triangular split at home on Monday.
The Bolts downed English Valleys/Tri-County 36-27 but lost to North Mahaska by the same score after surrendering four forfeits to the Warhawks.
Baxter was 3-1 in contested matches against English Valleys/Tri-County. All three wins were by pin and were recorded by Ayden Beck (120), Skyler Stoll (150) and Callyn Bishop (190). Jack Anderson (144), Ruger Kincaid (157) and Aiden McFadden (285) all accepted forfeits.

There were three double forfeits in the dual and Baxter had a 4-3 disadvantage in forfeits.
In the loss to North Mahaska, the Bolts were 5-2 in contested matches but finished 0-4 in forfeits. There were three double forfeits.
Beck, Anderson, Bishop and McFadden all won by fall, while Stoll won his match 6-3.
Beck, who is ranked seventh in Class 1A at 120, and Bishop both were 2-0 with two pins. McFadden, who is ranked 11th at 285, Anderson and Stoll also were 2-0. Bishop recorded two first-period pins.
