THORNBURG — Lily Webster collected the team’s lone conference title but seven other Tigerhawks finished second as the Colfax-Mingo girls’ wrestling team edged BGM for the South Iowa Cedar League championship on Monday.
Colfax-Mingo’s 10 wrestlers scored 120 points, while BGM’s 11 grapplers totaled 119 points. Iowa Valley scored 100 points with six wrestlers.
The rest of the seven-team field featured English Valleys/Tri-County (69), North Mahaska (52), Sigourney/Keota (46) and Belle Plaine (9).
Webster (31-5) won the 100-pound bracket with a pair of decisions over Iowa Valley’s Kylie Loffer. Webster won 2-0 and 5-0 to claim her second straight SICL title.
Arlo Steck, Brianna Freerksen, Lily Brenner, Lillie Jones, Emmalyn Buchmann, Kaydence Anderson and Emma Cook all finished second at their weights, while Devan Chadwick and Cadence Linn placed third.
Steck (20-5) was 2-1 with two pins at 125 and Buchman (18-6) was 3-1 with two pins at 170.
Freerksen and Brenner both went 1-1 at 135 and 145, respectively. Brenner’s win was by pin.
Linn (130), Jones (155), Andersen (190) and Cook (235) all went 0-2, while Chadwick wrestled five times and finished 3-2 with three pins. Two of Chadwick’s pins came in the first period.
