Nine Tigerhawks earn all-district football recognition

Colfax-Mingo junior Shane Hostetter was one of the most prolific receivers in Class 1A this fall.

He led Class 1A District 6 in multiple categories and his efforts earned him a spot on the first-team all-district squad recently.

Nine Tigerhawks in all were recognized on the all-district team. Seniors Cael Bracewell and Donnie Baucom and junior Isaiah Baucom were second-team selections, while seniors Logan Exley, Konner Dalton and Kaden Dalton were honorable mention choices.

Senior Joe Earles and junior Xavier Woods earned Golden Awards, which go to athletes who would have been all-district had it not been for an injury.

All-district recognition is based on statistics inside district play only.

Hostetter was a first-team all-district wide receiver after leading the district with 23 catches and 341 yards. His three receiving touchdowns tied for second in the league and his 322 total yards ranked ninth.

Bracewell was a second-team quarterback after leading the district with 644 passing yards. His five passing TDs ranked fourth and his 202 rushing yards were 10th. His seven combined touchdowns tied for 10th in the district.

Isaiah Baucom rushed for 154 yards and a TD as a second-team running back, while Donnie Baucom earned second-team honors as an offensive lineman after helping the Tigerhawks rush for 377 yards and rank second in the district with 688 passing yards.

Konner Dalton was an honorable-mention wide receiver after hauling in three catches for 48 yards. Kaden Dalton was an honorable-mention defensive back after collecting 10.5 tackles and one interception.

Exley’s honorable-mention recognition came at linebacker. He ranked ninth in the league with four tackles for loss and finished with 16 tackles and one sack.

Earles missed the entire district season, but Woods hauled in four passes and ranked 10th in the district with 95 receiving yards before getting injured. He also had two TD catches and six tackles on defense.
