C-M’s Smith leads area six-pack on all-SICL volleyball squad

Hawks, Tigerhawks place three players each on all-conference team

Trinity Smith

Anyone who watched Colfax-Mingo junior Trinity Smith on the volleyball court saw the impact she made for the Tigerhawks.

While Colfax-Mingo did not finish where it wanted to in the final standings, Smith’s statistics were good enough to land her a spot on the South Iowa Cedar League all-conference first team recently.

Smith led six area players on the all-SICL teams. C-M seniors Addie Schroeder and Charlotte Donahue joined Smith as honorable mention selections, while senior Majesta Vos headlined Lynnville-Sully with a second-team selection.

Charlotte Donahue

L-S seniors Aubree Arthur and Elise Alberts also were honorable mention choices.

Both Lynnville-Sully and Colfax-Mingo played in the SICL Bronze Quad this season. All-conference recognition is based on statistics inside conference play only.

Smith ranked fourth in the SICL with 115 kills and she added 138 digs, seven assists, four blocks and 18 aces. She was 98-of-111 in serves.

Addie Schroeder

Schroeder finished with 38 kills, three assists, 138 digs and 11 aces and she was 90-of-103 in serves.

Donahue ranked 10th in the SICL with 154 digs after being moved to libero midway through the season. She also tallied 11 kills, 10 assists and seven aces and was 104-of-109 in serves.

Donahue also earned academic all-state honors this fall after scoring a GPA of 3.7 or higher and ranking in the top 15 percent of their class.

Vos’ second-team all-conference selection included 29 blocks, which ranked third in the league. She added 73 kills, 28 digs, three assists and four aces. Her kill efficiency was .124 and she finished 73-of-81 in serves.

Majesta Vos

Arthur chipped in 81 kills, 79 digs, two blocks and four aces and she was 108-of-116 in serves.

Alberts’ 224 assists ranked fourth in the SICL and she added eight kills, two blocks, 86 digs and three aces. She was 123-of-129 in serves.
