SULLY — The Lynnville-Sully volleyball team rebounded from its worst loss of the season last week and a pair of home victories propelled the Hawks to the South Iowa Cedar League Bronze Quad championship on Thursday.
The Hawks’ five-set loss to two-win Tri-County three days earlier forced them into the Bronze Quad. But L-S took a two-match win streak into the postseason following a 25-17, 23-25, 15-7 win over Iowa Valley and a 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 victory over BGM.
The wins guarantee the Hawks a winning record for the first time in three seasons.
Elise Alberts led the home team against Iowa Valley with 12 assists, two kills and six digs and Alaina Roberts added 10 assists and eight digs.
Alexy Conover and Paige James both put down five kills, Majesta Vos and Aubree Arthur had four kills and Carsyn McFarland contributed 12 digs.

Conover added a team-high 13 digs, Arthur chipped in 10 digs and James collected five digs and two blocks. Vos registered three blocks and Morgan Jones secured two digs.
The Hawks (15-12) were 59-of-63 in serves with two aces. The Tigers (7-25) were 42-of-49 in serves with three aces.
Izzy Kriegel dished out 24 assists and Lydia Kriegel had 14 kills. Hannah Leonard posted 22 digs.
Against BGM, Conover led the way with seven kills and 12 digs. Alberts added 13 assists and eight digs, Roberts tallied four assists and 10 digs and McFarland contributed 10 digs.
Vos collected five kills and three blocks, Arthur added four kills and two digs and James posted three kills, three digs and two aces.
Jones pitched in four digs, Natalie Roberts had two digs and the Hawks were 68-of-74 in serves with three aces.
Karagyn Minnaert led BGM (10-13) with six kills and 14 digs. Laila Morrison had 10 assists and eight digs and the Bears were 42-of-48 in serves with four aces.
BGM finished with a negative kill efficiency. The Hawks’ kill efficiency was .120.
