BAXTER — A season-high scoring output and a huge third-quarter advantage pushed the Baxter football team to a 30-point victory over rival Collins-Maxwell on Friday in a Class 8-man District 9 contest.
The Bolts led 16-6 after one quarter and outscored the Spartans 18-0 during a 62-32 triumph on Homecoming.
Cade Robinson delivered the best game of his prep career with a career-high 145 rushing yards, Perrin Sulzle tossed a career-high six touchdown passes and Treyton Travis matched a career-high with four TD catches as the Bolts snapped a two-game skid.
Baxter claimed its third straight win over the Spartans. The Bolts have outscored Collins-Maxwell 185-48 during that stretch.

The Bolts opened the game with a three-and-out. Collins-Maxwell drove the ball into the red zone on its first possession, but Stadan Vansice got the ball back to the home team with an interception.
Baxter turned the miscue into points as Sulzle connected with Travis for a 30-yard TD. Travis caught the pass near the line of scrimmage.
Collins-Maxwell got within two points after scoring off a Bolts’ turnover. But a 58-yard TD pass from Sulzle to Travis put the hosts back in front.
Another fumble by Baxter led to more points for the Spartans. Collins-Maxwell closed to within 16-12, but Cody Samson snagged a one-handed catch for a 7-yard TD. The score was set up by another big pass completion to Travis.
Cainan Travis extended the Bolts’ lead to 30-12 when he took a short pass from Sulzle near the line of scrimmage and ran 61 yards to paydirt.

The Spartans answered in the final minute. A bit of luck helped Collins-Maxwell score on a big pass play as the ball bounced off a Bolt defender and into the hands of Lane Oswalt, who took it 46 yards to the end zone.
The 18-0 third quarter put the game away and both teams scored 14 points in the fourth.
Sulzle was 17-of-30 through the air for 335 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. He also ran for 63 yards and another score on 12 carries.
Sulzle leads all 8-man players with 1,710 passing yards and ranks tied for third with 23 TD passes.
Robinson’s career day included 145 yards on 14 carries, five catches for 50 yards and one TD. The Bolts (4-2 overall, 3-2 in the district) ran for 227 yards and averaged 7.3 yards per carry.
Treyton Travis finished with 198 yards and four TDs on eight catches, Cainan Travis chipped in 80 yards and a TD on three catches and 19 yards and another score on five carries. Samson’s 7-yard TD catch was his only reception of the game.

Treyton Travis leads 8-man with 66 catches, 976 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Cael Wishman led the defense with 11 tackles, one sack and four tackles for loss, while Samson added 11 tackles and Vansice registered 11 tackles and one interception.
Treyton Travis finished with nine tackles, one interception and a fumble recovery, Cainan Travis chipped in nine tackles, Aiden McFadden had seven tackles and Robinson and Jack Anderson each tallied six tackles.
Vansice booted a 47-yard punt, Cainan Travis had four touchbacks on kickoffs and Treyton Travis registered a 34-yard kickoff return.
Wishman’s 21.5 tackles for loss leads 8-man and he’s tied for second with nine sacks. Treyton Travis ranks tied for fourth with five interceptions.
Cooper Wierson led the Spartans (1-5, 0-5) with 287 passing yards, two touchdowns and two picks and gained 46 yards on 15 carries.
Oswalt finished with 88 yards and two scores on eight receptions and Josef Dvorak grabbed eight passes for 70 yards and registered 8.5 tackles.
