LYNNVILLE — Keegan DeWitt, Lucas Sieck and Carson Maston finished in the top five during a home South Iowa Cedar League matchup with Sigourney on Monday.
But the Savages claimed the top two spots at the par 36 Diamond Trail Golf Course and downed the Lynnville-Sully boys’ golf team by 13 strokes.
The Hawks shot a 187 but were defeated by Sigourney, which turned in a 174.
The L-S girls did not have enough golfers for a team score. Sigourney’s girls shot 256.
Sigourney’s Clay Morse was the meet medalist with a 3-over-par 39 and Brock Anderson claimed runner-up medalist with a 44.
DeWitt, Sieck and Maston were third, fourth and fifth, respectively, with 45s. Klayton Van Dyke was the final scoring golfer as he carded a 52.
Garrett Jansen (55) and Deven Liekweg (57) had non-counting scores.
The Hawk girls had two golfers. Renzi Ingersoll finished third with a 65 and Hopelynn Sanders carded a 67 in fourth.
Sigourney’s Zoe Webb shot a 56 as the meet medalist. Emma Hammes was the runner-up medalist with a 63.
