Oskaloosa (343), Grinnell (346), Pella (349) and Fairfield (368) completed the field on Tuesday.
“Just a bad day for all the guys today,” Newton boys head golf coach Pat Riley said. “We need to get back to basics and work on keeping the ball in play. We are still learning and this is all just a work in progress.”
Ethan Pageler finished second on the team behind Pritchard with a 98. The other two counting scorers were Lane Rozendaal (108) and Peyton Rozendaal (111).
Lincoln Peterson (118) and Colin Cummins (123) turned in non-counting scores.
“We will make strides and then have setbacks,” Riley said. “How we respond to those setbacks will tell us what we are made of as a team.”
After Pella Christian, Pella sits second after two rounds with a 672. Oskaloosa is third with a 677 and Grinnell’s 688 is fourth. Newton has a 770 after 36 holes.
