COLFAX — Colfax-Mingo’s Holland Robinette and Charlotte Donahue went 1-2 on the girls’ side and Lynnville-Sully’s Klayton Van Dyke and Keegan DeWitt finished first and second in the boys’ matchup during a South Iowa Cedar League golf battle at Colfax Country Club on Thursday.
The Colfax-Mingo girls’ golf team shot a season-best 228 and the Tigerhawk boys carded a season-best 214, but the end result was a varsity split.
The L-S boys shot a 194 to win that matchup. The Hawk girls did not have enough golfers for a team score.
Klayton Van Dyke and Keegan DeWitt both shot 47 at the top of the boys’ leaderboard. Van Dyke was the meet medalist and DeWitt earned runner-up honors after a card back.

Lucas Sieck and Carson Maston both shot 50s as the final counting scores for the Hawks. Garrett Jansen (57) and Deven Liekweg (65) had non-counting scores.
The Tigerhawk boys were led by Cael Bracewell’s career-best 50 and Owen Ament’s career-best 51. Cason Fitch (55) and Luke Allen (season-best 58) had the other counting scores and Alex Teed shot a non-counting 64.
JaShawn Fleming led the C-M junior varsity golfers with a 64.
On the girls’ side, Robinette’s career-best 50 earned her meet medalist, Donahue shot a 54 in second and the other counting scores came from Lily Brenner (57) and Caylee Cunningham (season-best 67).
Madison Stackhouse (career-best 69) and Chloe Clements (82) turned in non-counting scores.
Lynnville-Sully has just two female golfers. Both Renzi Ingersoll and Hopelynn Sanders shot 71s. It was the season debut for Sanders.

C-M boys finish fourth in first 18-hole round of season
WOODWARD — Fitch and Bracewell each shot 110, Ament and Jacob Riddle carded 118s as the final counting scores and C-M’s boys’ golf team finished fourth during a road quadrangular on Tuesday.
The Tigerhawks shot a 456 at Woodward Golf Club in their first 18-hole round of the season. Host Woodward-Granger won the meet with a 335, Earlham was second with a 352 and Saydel placed third with a 426.
Woodward-Granger’s Nick Bermel (77) and Landon Chambers (82) finished first and second, respectively.
Teed (121) and Allen (134) turned in non-counting scores for the Tigerhawks.

C-M girls win road SICL triangular
BROOKLYN — Another 1-2 finish highlighted the C-M girls’ golf team’s win during an SICL road triangular on April 10.
Donahue matched a career-best 49 to win medalist and Brenner carded a 57 in second as the Tigerhawks shot a winning 257. North Mahaska and host BGM did not have enough golfers for a team score.
On the boys’ side, C-M finished third with a 221. BGM won the meet with a 172 and North Mahaska shot a 193 in second.
Stackhouse (72) and Clements (career-best 73) had the final counting scores for the girls and Emily Dyer (career-best 75) and Lillie Jones (career-best 86) fired non-counting scores.
The Tigerhawk boys were led by Fitch in fifth place with a 48. Bracewell shot a 53 and Allen, Teed and Riddle all turned in 60s as the final counting score.
The 60 was a career-best for Teed and Riddle and Sean Ament had a non-counting career-best 63.
BGM’s Dominic Coleman (38) and Beau Burns (43) finished in the top two spots.
