LE GRAND — Three wins highlighted the PCM boys’ track and field team during the Mustang Boys Relays on Monday.
With meets on back-to-back days, PCM’s athletes had a light night but still finished sixth with 47 points.
The Mustangs won the 4x100, 4x200 and shuttle hurdle relays and Gavin Van Gorp was second in the 110-meter high hurdles.
Aplington-Parkersburg won the team championship with 98 points. Vinton-Shellsburg scored 85 points in second and BCLUW finished third with 83.
Hudson (56) and host East Marshall (49) completed the top five and PCM (47), Belmond-Klemme (46), AGWSR (42), Montezuma (37), HLV (32) and Gladbrook-Reinbeck (14) rounded out the 11-team field.
The winning 4x100 relay team included Adrien Robbins, Griffin Olson, Evan Jones and Gavin Fenton and they finished in a season-best 45.44 seconds.
In the 4x200 relay, Robbins, August Stock, Gabe Hobbs and Jones won the race in a season-best 1 minute, 34.19 seconds, which currently ranks ninth in Class 2A.
The foursome of Van Gorp, Stock, Olson and Fenton won the shuttle hurdle relay in a season-best 1:03.14, which sits third in 2A.
Van Gorp’s runner-up time in the 110 high hurdles was clocked in a career-best time of 15.89 seconds.
Jacob Wendt finished fifth in the 100 with a season-best time of 12.19 and Chase Wagaman placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4 inches.
