NEW SHARON — Kylie Doty doubled three times, had four hits and drove in four runs during Colfax-Mingo’s 5-1 softball victory over North Mahaska on Tuesday.
Doty also tossed a complete game in the circle and struck out five in the South Iowa Cedar League game.
Both teams scored single runs in the third, but the Tigerhawks pulled away with two in the fifth and two in the seventh.
In the third, Doty’s RBI single put C-M on the board. Abi Rawlins scored the run and she finished with one hit, two runs and two steals in the win.
Doty’s two-run double in the fifth plated Rawlins and Joslyn Chadwick and made it 3-0. Chadwick doubled and scored two runs.

In the sixth, Doty’s RBI single scored Chadwick and Charlotte Donahue’s RBI single finalized the scoring.
Doty allowed four hits and one unearned run in the circle and struck out five in seven innings. She walked three.
Doty pitched around trouble all night as she retired North Mahaska in order just twice.
At the plate, Doty had four hits, three doubles and four RBIs. Caylee Cunningham finished with two hits.
Donahue registered one hit and one RBI, Holland Robinette doubled and Trinity Smith had the other hit. Kaydance Smith scored one run and had one steal.
Colfax-Mingo (9-3 overall, 8-1 in the SICL) collected 11 hits and committed three errors in the win. Host North Mahaska (7-7, 6-3) was limited to just four hits.
Colfax-Mingo 8, Tri-County 1
COLFAX — Donahue registered three hits, Robinette walked three times and Kaydance Smith scored three runs during the Tigerhawks’ 8-1 home win over Tri-County on Monday.
Colfax-Mingo drew even with its visitors in the first and then pulled away with two runs in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and two in the sixth to win the SICL contest.

C-M out-hit Tri-County 5-4 and drew six walks. The Tigerhawks also were hit by three pitches. The Trojans committed four errors and C-M had three miscues.
Donahue added one run and one of her three hits was a double. Chadwick walked twice, scored one run and stole one base, Cunningham tallied one hit, one run, one RBI and one walk and Rawlins finished with one hit, one run and two steals.
Devan Chadwick collected two RBIs and was hit by a pitch, Doty was hit by a pitch and had one RBI, Madison Stackhouse was hit by one pitch and Lily Webster scored one run.
Doty allowed zero runs and four hits and struck out nine and walked two in seven innings.
Ayla Hall led Tri-County (8-7, 6-4) with two hits and she scored the team’s lone run.
