SULLY — Greenlee Smock’s big night, Brooke Conover’s career night and a dominant effort on the glass propelled Lynnville-Sully’s girls basketball team to an overtime win over Colfax-Mingo on Tuesday night.
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead but needed an extra period to down the Tigerhawks, 59-53, during South Iowa Cedar League action.
“I am really proud of how the girls responded tonight. They kept battling all night,” L-S head girls basketball coach Jerry Hulsing said. “It was good seeing the girls step up to the free-throw line and make some key shots.”

“A big difference in the game was our rebounding,” Hulsing said. “I thought we did a good job of moving the ball and getting good looks.”
