INDIANOLA — The Newton-Colfax-Mingo-Pella swim team had just seven swimmers for the Little Hawkeye Conference meet on Thursday night.
The Cardinals finished fourth as a team in the four-team field with 238 points. The only medalist for the night was Clay Lamb, who finished second in the 200-yard freestyle.
Host Indianola won the meet with 622 points. The rest of the field included Grinnell/BGM with 456, Oskaloosa with 274 and NCMP (238).
Lamb’s second-place time in the 200 freestyle was clocked in a career-best time of 2 minutes, 4.02 seconds. Lamb also placed fifth in the 100 butterfly in a season-best time of 1:00.15.
Drew Fuller had the next best finish as he was fourth in the 500 freestyle with a career-best time of 5:54.64. Fuller had a time drop of 17 seconds.
Mack Copeland was fifth in two events. He took fifth in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.79 and was fifth in the 500 freestyle in 6:10.17. That was a time drop of seven seconds.
Brady Comer also was fifth in the 100 breaststroke. He was clocked in 1:10.46.
