Baxter’s football team played in its first 8-man playoff game this fall. And the Bolts were within one of tying the school-record for most wins in program history.
For their efforts, 10 players earned all-district recognition as the 8-man District 7 teams were released recently after Montezuma lost in the state quarterfinals.
Leading the way for the Bolts was junior Cody Damman, who was named the district’s Defensive MVP.
Seniors Rory Heer and Nate McMinamen and juniors Jake Travis and Trice Clapper all joined Damman as first-team selections.
The second-team picks were senior Grant Borts and juniors Cael Shepley and Devin Fredregill. Sophomores Aiden McFadden and Treyton Travis were the honorable mention choices.
All-district honors are based on statistics inside district play only.
