Strohmeyer gets 100th win in Tigerhawks’ dual sweep

Seven Tigerhawks go 2-0 in C-M’s wrestling wins over HLV, Collins-Maxwell

COLFAX — Noah Strohmeyer claimed his 100th career victory, seven Tigerhawks went 2-0 and Colfax-Mingo’s wrestling team won twice during a home triangular against HLV and Collins-Maxwell on Tuesday.

The Tigerhawks improved to 13-10 in duals after a 56-18 win over HLV and a 42-33 triumph against the Spartans.

Class 1A No. 7 Strohmeyer (21-3) was one of the seven wrestlers who were 2-0. He won both of his matches at 113 pounds by forfeit and now has 100 career wins.

John McGill, Austin Lane, Hunter Stevens, Trystin Anderson, Katie Schlosser and Kenny Schlosser all joined Strohmeyer with two wins in the triangular.

McGill (27-4) won two contested matches at 126, winning one by fall. He also defeated 2020 state qualifier Ethan Kupka of HLV 4-2.

Stevens (23-7) won twice by fall at 152 and Lane also won a pair of contested matches at 132.

Against HLV, the Tigerhawks took four forfeits and were 5-1 in contested matches. McGill, Lane, Stevens, Shane Aikin (182) and Kenny Schlosser (285) all won on the mat. Strohmeyer, Mariah Webster (120), Anderson (160) and Katie Schlosser (195) all took forfeits.

In the win over Collins-Maxwell, Strohmeyer, Katie Schlosser and Kenny Schlosser (12-2) all took forfeits. McGill, Lane, Stevens and Anderson all won by fall.
