SULLY — Four wrestlers went 2-0 on the night, but Lynnville-Sully’s wrestling team dropped a pair of duals to South Iowa Cedar League teams on Monday night.
The Hawks lost 42-38 to BGM and fell 54-30 to Sigourney-Keota. Forfeits were the difference in the loss to BGM. L-S was 3-6 in contested matches against S-K.
Against BGM, the Hawks surrendered six forfeits and lost by four points. They were 5-1 in contested matches as Gentry Walston (113), Sam Philby (126) and Maxwell Mintle (145) all won by fall, CJ Snethen (138) won by technical fall and Reese Dunsbergen (152) won 10-5.
The Hawks forfeited at 106, 120 and the four largest weights. Gabe Wearmouth (160) and Kyle Squires (170) took forfeits in their matches.
In the loss to S-K, Snethen, Mintle and Dunsbergen all won by fall and Walston and Lane Mathis (220) won by forfeit. Mintle needed just 28 seconds to get his pin at 145 and Snethen’s match at 138 lasted just 45 seconds.
Walston (19-6), Snethen (17-6), Mintle (16-2) and Dunsbergen (15-8) all went 2-0 for the Hawks on the night.
