RIVERSIDE — Five Colfax-Mingo wrestlers went 3-0 and won their weight brackets at the Highland girls’ tournament on Friday.
The Tigerhawks brought eight girls to the tournament and seven of them came back with top-three finishes. Leading the way with individual titles were Danica Linn, Mariah Webster, Kirsten Frier, Kylie Doty and Maggie Schroeder.
Linn won her bracket with a 3-0 record. She won twice by fall and claimed a 9-0 major decision win. Webster and Frier both won their brackets with three pins each.
Doty’s bracket also included teammate Melany Vry. Doty was 3-0 with two pins and a 12-0 win over Vry. Vry was 2-1 with two pins.
Schroeder’s bracket also had teammate Miranda McGill. Schroeder was 3-0 with a win by fall over McGill. She also won 5-0 and 7-5 in SV-1. McGill was 1-2 and finished third. Her win was by fall.
The eighth wrestler in the tournament was Selena Lopez. She was fourth in her bracket but went 0-3 on the day.
