BELLE PLAINE — Baxter’s wrestling team took four forfeits against Collins-Maxwell and English Valleys and those wins helped the Bolts claim a pair of dual wins during a road quadrangular on Thursday.
The Bolts downed English Valleys 39-19 and defeated Collins-Maxwell 36-31. They lost to host Belle Plaine 64-18.
In the win over English Valleys (1-11), Baxter went 3-4 in contested matches as Micah Kearns (220) and Ashton Kerwin (126) won by fall and Curtis Gliem claimed a 10-9 decision at 132 pounds. Cody Samson (160), Jacob Hiemstra (170), Aiden McFadden (285) and Cole Smith (120) all took forfeits in the dual win.
Baxter was 2-5 in contested matches against Collins-Maxwell (2-11) but took four forfeits to win by five. Samson, Hiemstra, Kearns and McFadden took the forfeit wins. Kerwin and Brad Matthews (138) both won their matches by fall.
In the loss to Belle Plaine (4-4), Baxter got forfeit wins from Kearns, McFadden and Smith.
Kearns and McFadden were both 3-0 on the night. They took five forfeits and McFadden had a pin. Kerwin won twice by pin.
The Bolts improved to 5-11 on the season.
