Letter to the Editor: George will bring a balanced and seasoned approach

Experience counts when voting for the next mayor of Newton. That is why we support Evelyn George for that office.

Evelyn has served on the Council as an at large member which has given her a comprehensive and significant insight to how the city works, what the challenges are and how to move ahead. She has chaired the Maytag Bowl Project Committee, participated in Newton Comprehensive Plan meetings, and has taught the “Get to Know Newton Leadership” development class. Evelyn has a BA from UNI and an MBA from the University of Iowa and has worked for the Iowa Farm Bureau, Maytag and Allsteel Office Furniture.

As mayor, Evelyn will bring a balanced and seasoned approach to lead the City Council and the City of Newton into the future.
