Margaret Hope Edwards

Margaret Hope Edwards, age 76 formerly of Colfax, passed away at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday Sept 10th 10:30am at the Colfax Cemetery. There will be no visitation.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.corburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Charles and Esther (Borts) Owens, Margaret was born February 6th 1948, in Colfax. She was united in marriage to Dale T. “Whimp” Edwards.  Margaret worked as a waitress in Altoona at the truck stop cafe. She also counted money at Younkers. Then went to school and was accepted into the secretarial program at DMACC.  She then worked for an Insurance company and ended her work career with the Department of Educations as a Secretary.  Margaret liked to travel around the state of Iowa for fun with her Husband, Dale. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, baseball, golf, along with making pottery and jewelry.  She liked 40′s, 50′s, 60′s, Gospel and country music. Her favorite pet as a child was her collie dog, recent favorite pets were her dog Spud and her cat Chubby.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Wes Edwards; grandchildren, Cheyenne Edwards, Morgan (Edwards) Burkman, Kayliegh Edwards,  Riley and Mason Edwards and a great grandson, Jaxson.  Preceding her in death were her parents, husband; a son David, a sister, Kathy Owens and two brothers, Terry Owens and Duane Owens.
