She opened a resale clothing store, The Dressing Room, in Newton, where she worked and served the community for 32 years. She married Loren Reineking, also from Coulter, in 2000 and they lived in Johnston. Together they enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, visiting family and friends, and spending winter months in San Diego. She was a life-long Lutheran, and a member at St. John’s in Coulter, Holy Trinity in Newton, and Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Loren Reineking of West Des Moines; children: Lori (Phil) Ruge-Jones of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Steve (Laura) Jones of Newton; five grandchildren, Kayla (Rob) Hammons of Kansas City, Luisa Ruge-Jones of Cincinnati, OH, Jonah (Ashley) Jones of Huxley, Lucas (Lexi) Rugejones of Austin, TX, and Grace (Ryan) Jones of Des Moines; sister, Lwona Meyer of Iowa Falls; six great-grandchildren, Camren, Vada, Rose, Tyler, Alessa, and Delphina, and nieces and nephews.
