Misty J. Reavis

Misty J. Reavis, 41, of Gilman, IA passed away at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Newton VFW Post #1655. Memorials may be designated to the Shayla Winchell mailed in c/o of Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Misty was born on May 22, 1982 in Newton, IA to Larry E. and Bette J. (Hesse) Reavis. She grew up in Newton and graduated with the class of 2001. Misty then graduated from DMACC with an AA degree.

Misty has two children Layla and Shayla. Misty enjoyed cooking, drawing and writing. She also loved animals. She is survived by her daughters, Layla (Eston Ross) Reavis of Hawaii and Shayla Winchell of Newton; her sister, Amanda Reavis of Grinnell and Lorrie Reavis of Newton; her nephews, Bronson Alter, Bently Burtlow; and her nieces, Ryley Roney, Shevi Alter and Lara Burtlow. She is proceeded in death by her father, Larry E. Reavis and her sister Nikie Burtlow.
