Laura Jo Heemsbergen

Laura Jo Heemsbergen, age 65 of Runnells, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Grace Church in Des Moines at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at First Reformed Church in Prairie City from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The daughter of Robert Leo and Elizabeth Kathleen (Richmond) Hall, Laura was born on July 17, 1958, in Seattle, Washington. She attended Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She was united in marriage to Bob Heemsbregen in 1994. Laura worked for 38 years as an underwriter at American Republic Insurance in Des Moines. She was a member of Grace Church in Des Moines and was active in many youth programs.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bob; a son Matthew Hall Heemsbergen; a sisterLinda (Ronald) Comfort; a niece, Nicole (Dylan) Oran; and two nephews, David and Ryan Comfort. Preceding Laura in death were her parents.
