Vergal Marvin Briggs, died Sunday evening, Aug. 20, 2023, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation time and celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Newton American Legion Post #111.
