Nadine Collins passed away on Saturday February 25, 2023 at the young age of 96. She was born on September 21, 1926 to Willard and Violet (Rohlf) Osincup in Waverly, IA. Loving wife of 63 years to the late Frederick D. Collins. Loving and devoted mother to David (Laura) Collins, Lauren (Dave) Bohanan, and Carolyn (Tom) Larsen. Devoted Grandmother to Jeff (Holly) Collins, Brian (Shelly) Collins, Steve (Alyse) Collins, Joel (Stacey) Taylor, Ahren Bohanan, Kristin Larsen and Alex (Marilyn) Larsen. Loving Great Grandmother to Jon and Sam Collins and Colton and Addyson Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred and sister Marilyn Andersen.
Nadine graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa and then moved to Massachusetts. She married Fred Collins on July 19, 1953 in Waverly, Iowa and was married by her Uncle Lynn Osincup. In 1966 they moved to Newton, IA where they raised their 3 children. While in Newton Nadine was involved in many things She was a 70+ year member of PEO and served in many capacities over those 70 years. She volunteered at church, sang in the choir, enjoyed sewing, entertaining and spending time with friends.
In 1987 Fred retired from Maytag and they moved to Scottsdale, AZ. While there she joined a new PEO chapter, volunteered at Nourish Phoenix and hosted many gatherings at their home. She also was on the Board at Westminster Village where they lived and made and sold greeting cards there to raise money for Westminster Village.
Nadine and Fred travelled all over the world and enjoyed seeing the sights and making new friends along the way. Her favorite place though was Gloucester, MA.
Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she cheered them on with each new endeavor. Many visits were made between all. She loved each and every one of them dearly and big void has been left in their lives.
Nadine was the most positive and selfless woman and anyone lucky enough to know her was a true friend to her. A true lady and beautiful inside and out.
There will be no service. A family gathering will take place at a later date in Iowa. A special thank you to the employees at Westminster/Weyrich who took such wonderful care of her. She loved each and every one of you.
