David Nelson Trout, 64, died Tuesday October 25, 2022, at his home in Transnistria. Interment is in Transnistria. A memorial service will be held Sunday November 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Center Friends Church in rural Newton. The family will greet friends from 1:00-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Center Friends Church and Cemetery may be left at the church the day of the service or mailed to: D. Batterson; 10037 E 36th Street North; Laurel IA 50141.
David, the son of Morris Trout and Eleanor (Hill) Trout was born May 27, 1958, in Newton. He grew up in Newton, graduated from Newton High School in 1976, and in his senior year was selected as a vocalist for the Iowa All-State Chorus. David graduated from Iowa State University in August 1980. David moved to Wichita, KS where he worked for K-Mart. He then worked for Beneficial Finance in Topeka KS. David moved to Missouri and worked for Ford Motor Credit and also sold insurance. Later he worked for the MO Department of Corrections. In October 1985, he married Sandra Lamar of Jerome, MO. They later divorced. David ultimately moved to Transnistria where he met Svetlana Chirtoaca, his girlfriend and remained there until his recent death.
David loved music, travel, and history, along with bicycling and playing disc golf with his family.
David is survived by his girlfriend Svetlana Chirtoaca of Transnistria, his mother Eleanor Trout of Jefferson City, MO; children Jessica Brewer (Daniel) of Blue Springs, MO; Travis Trout of Tulsa, OK; and Samantha Trout of Independence, MO; his grandchildren Mackenzie Brewer and Cole Brewer; his sister Dixie Trout (Dennis Gormley) of High Amana, IA; and brother Perry Trout (Sally) of Leawood, KS.; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
