Charles Edward Carr

Charles Edward Carr, 83, formerly of Newton, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at home peacefully.

He was born on September 03, 1938, in Mississippi, the son of the late Willie Carr and Hazel Holloway-Richard.

Survivors include: his children: Charles Coleman of Chicago, Ill; Kimberly Carr, Linda Pearson, Charles (Cher) Harris, and Rochelle Harris all of Newton, Ia.; 11 grandchildren, his loving great grandchildren; two brothers, 4 sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers

Charles was a retiree of the Maytag Company in Newton. Prior to that he worked for several years at Miller Towing Company in Chicago. Charles enjoyed fishing, bingo, horse racing, and was a prominent member of the Cardinal Lanes Bowling league.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 08, 2022, at Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago, Illinois.
