Linda Lorraine Marshall

Linda Lorraine Marshall, 73, of Newton died on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her home. The family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Linda’s name (checks made payable to Bob Marshall) may be left the funeral home.

Linda, the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Layton) Shultz, was born on March 17, 1949 in Osceola. She grew up in Red Rock and then in Reasnor; graduating from Monroe High School in 1967. On December 30, 1967, Linda was united in marriage with Bob Marshall in Monroe. They first made their home Newton before building a home in Reasnor. During that time Linda worked at Newton Manufacturing.  In 1977, the family moved to Fairfield.  They later moved to rural Prairie City and Linda worked as a Real Estate Agent.  In 1995, Bob and Linda moved back to Newton. Linda was the office manager for Lockman Electric and most recently she drove bus for HIRTA.

Linda enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, a good road trip, and especially gambling.  She also was a talented baker and was famous for rhubarb and apple pies with homemade crust. Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mom, and grandma.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bob Marshall of Newton; sons, Rod (Jaime) Marshall of Eddyville and Gene (Carrie) Marshall of Onawa and her nine grandchildren, Justin Marshall, Jordan Marshall, Avery Marshall, Allen Marshall, Dixie Marshall, Alexious Batchfield (Crystal Dalldorf), Destiny Batchfield, Oliver Batchfield, and Ezekial Batchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tyler Marshall; and her siblings, Ernie Shultz, twins, Larry and Gary Shultz; Carolyn Penning; and Kathy Shultz.
