Deanna Kay Shadley-Mahoney

Deanna Kay Shadley-Mahoney, 83, the daughter of Kenneth Paul and Eleanor (Dennis) Lane, was born January 8, 1939, in Newton. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School, Class of 1957.

Memorial services for Deanna will be Wednesday, May 11, 2022. It will be at the Izaak Walton League in Newton from 2p-5p. Flowers can be accepted at this time.

Deanna was united in marriage to Leonard Shadley in 1958 to whom three children were born. Randy R. Shadley, Joni L. Saunders and Marcy A. Kingery. Mr. Shadley later died in 1990 and Deanna married Dale Mahoney on January 24, 1996 in Kellogg. Deanna was employed by Newton Inn for many years as a Night Manager until her retirement. Deanna had devoted her life to her family and will be greatly missed. She was a past member of the Newton Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling and mushroom hunting.

Deanna died Friday morning, May 6, 2022, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Joni Saunders her brother Paul Lane and her previous husband Leonard Shadley.

Those left to honor Deanna’s memory include her husband, Dale; her daughter Marcy Kingery; her son Randy Shadley; her seven grandchildren: Raymond R. Stoner (Alicia), Nick Shadley (Desiree), Brandy Ramos (Oscar), Erin Juarez (Juan), Kelsey Saunders, RJ Shadley, and Skylar Dawson and eleven great-grandchildren; and her many extended family and friends
