Robin Lynn Southern

Robin Lynn Southern, 52, of Newton died on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her home. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Robin’s name (checks made payable to Brock Southern) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Robin, the daughter of Darrell and Pam (Tabor) Smith, was born on July 27, 1969 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1988. Robin then received her Associated Degree from Indian Hills Community College. Robin returned to Newton and worked for FNNB for the last 30 years as both a teller and Branch Manager of the Plaza location. She enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, and being with her family, friends, and dog, Maggie. 

Robin is survived by her son, Brock Southern (Somer Seals) of Prairie City; parents, Darrell and Pam Smith of Newton; paternal grandmother, Marjorie Smith of Monroe; niece, Jordyn Stephen of Cedar Rapids; great-nephew, Shon Lee; her best friend, Debbie Yates; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Nikole Lea Stephen; paternal grandfather, Lloyd Smith; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Pauline Tabor.
