Jo Ellen Adams

Jo Ellen Adams, age 83 of Prairie City, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Prairie City United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The daughter of Roy and Grace (Clippenger) Thompson, Jo was born on January 21, 1938 in Prairie City. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1956. On December 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to Harold Adams. Jo was a lifetime member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church. She also was involved with TTT and PEO. Jo enjoyed cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles and playing bridge.

Those left to honor her memory include her three sons, Mike (Jo) Adams, Dan (Angelique) Adams and Tom (Cindy) Adams; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a sister, Jean (Dwight) Kennedy. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband in 2015, brothers, Dick Thompson and Bobby Thompson and a sister, Jane Lenning.
